Review of ‘Planetsms Digital Monthly Mentorship’

Posted by Paul | Uncategorized | Thursday 17 September 2009 7:48 am

A new mentoring program with a difference

Many new online marketers are joining programs and sites that claim to ‘mentor’ people to success, So is ‘Planetsms Digital Monthly Mentorship’ any different to so many that don’t provide value, Or is is one of the few that do?

I may be slightly biased in favour of this program – because I have bought products from John Thornhill in the past and he always over delivers and offers great support for those, You might want to check some of his products here to get an idea of the quality of his products before comiting to a monthly fee.

The first thing I noted from reading his site is that John Thornhill, known on ebay as planetsms, isn’t just promoting it as another ‘make money from ebay’ type of product.
He does use his ebay id as part of his credentials as a person qualified to teach others, as well as the fact that he has authored some best selling ebooks, and is an ebay powerseller.

What he says about ‘the secret to success’ being to follow someone who is successful at internet marketing can’t be argued with, (provided they are teaching what they know and do to make money on the internet)

This monthly membership goes a lot further than just the mention of selling on ebay though.
It claims to teach exactly what John does to generate multiple streams of income from the internet marketing arena in general.

The claims made on the sales page include:

A Digital Newsletter Delivered to Your Inbox Each Month.
In which he claims to reveal methods he actually uses to make money, and admits many of them are not just from ebay.

Audio/Video Training
Which will show and ‘walk us through’ what he does and the strategies he employs.

The Tools Required to Help You Succeed.
He includes in the package the tools and private label/ brandable material he says will be needed for some one to start their own online income.

The Opportunity to Get Personal Help.
Offering to have direct contact with subscribers/members to help them where needed (but only on a limited number basis) – so I would assume this may be removed at some point?

A Monthly Question and Answer session.
Promising to answer any marketing related questions

Further ‘undefined’ help
Offering to be flexible and help as needed with other avenues of making money online such as list building, product creation, sales page building and help with ebay listings.

And Also -
Almost Guaranteed Income.
Where he is offering to promote members products to his subscriber base, in order to help generate them some sale. (I note he does have some small print in there – only promising to promote appropriate products)
This presumably covers him against any obligation to promote poor quality or non related products?

Finally his price for membership is set at $10 per month. (this is where I believe he differentiates himself from many mentoring programs I have seen – most go for the higher end price ticket – this does seem exceptional value if he lives up to his claims)

For which he also offers a money back guarantee. (presumably with it being a clickbank product – he will have had to offer such a guarantee) Never the less it is comforting that one can ‘Try’ him out without risk or fear of loss, knowing that if he doesn’t provide quality and value he would soon be out of pocket.

Ebay Auctions-easy and Profitable

Posted by Paul | eBay | Wednesday 15 April 2009 1:37 pm

Because ebay is such a busy place of merchandise sales with many various ebay stores and markets selling thousands of items, there must be a few rules that are set in place to insure that everyone is playing fair. Ebay auctions are a gift for us to make easy money without having the overhead or the stress of running other types of businesses so it is ideal that we all adhere to their policies.
Very few other issues will get ebay sellers arguing about the rules no more than the rules on linking to and from your ebay auctions. Ebay has some very firm rules when it comes to liking and it would be wise of you to follow them to insure that your ebay auctions stay online and profitable.
Below are the following links that you may use in your ebay auction description:
1. On your ebay auction, you may have one link to an additional web page for information. This web page is to be used exclusively for further information about whatever ebay item that you are selling from you ebay auction.
2. Your ebay auction may have links to more photo images of the merchandise that you are selling on ebay.
3. If you want your customer to click on a link from your ebay auction that opens up to separate window to send you an email, then that is ok. In fact this little ebay auction email window may increase inquiries of your ebay selling item.
4. Ebay auction links that connects to your other ebay auctions or any of your other ebay auctions stores is also permissible.
5. You may have one link that links to your ebay About Me page. This is in addition to the link next to your user ID that ebay provides for your ebay auction.
6. Ebay authorizes you to have links to your vendors’ websites that help you with your auctions. Ebay considers any type of listing services, payment providers, and software programs to be 3rd party vendors.
In addition to the above Ebay linking rules that are authorized for your Ebay auctions there are also links that are not allowed with ebay.
1. You cannot have any links that link to other websites that offers to sell, trade, or purchase merchandise outside of Ebay. This should be obvious but many new sellers to Ebay auctions break this rule.
2. Links to any other websites that encourages ebay bidders to place their bids outside of ebay are not authorized in your ebay auctions
3. Your ebay auction cannot have links that link to outside websites that offers to sell merchandise that is considered illegal at ebay. 4. Links that connect to websites that solicit ebay user Ids and passwords is also unauthorized to have within your ebay auction.
When it comes to linking from your About Me page the ebay rules are pretty much the same overall with your ebay auction. Because ebay gives you this page to self promote your business, then linking to your website from it is allowed.
On the other hand, you need to be sure that the link does connect to other trading sites or to website businesses that sell the same product or merchandise at the same price or lower price than what is advertised on ebay.

Methods to make more cash with On-line Auctions

Posted by Paul | eBay | Saturday 7 March 2009 6:26 pm

Test your Item

When you start listing new or even list items you have sold before you really should test several different headings and the content of the item to see which one attracts both visitors and bidders.  Refining your auction should be a regular practice to get the best from your auctions.   In this article I will use eBay as the auction site as it is passably the best known auction site.

This method works very well for items that you have multiples of.  For one off items you will only be able to do this if an item doesn’t sell or you could check closed auctions by searching eBay for them and making notes of those that attracted visitors compared to those that didn’t.  Some times using this method you will make some really good choices and at other times you will make a mistake, however this is all a part of learning and if you keep notes of the changes you made both good and bad you will soon learn what works well for a particular item and what doesn’t

This information will help selling future items as you will have quite a lot of experience which should never be underestimated.  The time and effort you spend on this will improve your listings and is also transferable to your website if you sell items from there.  This method sounds expensive and depending on the amount of items you are listing it could be, but don’t think you have to do all your items at once.  You could take a small sample of items that don’t sell and work on those items

Minimize Auction Expenses

This is a very important part of selling on on-line auctions and affects all sellers.  A lot of sellers work on a very small profit margin and are looking to keep these expensive down to a minimum wherever passable.  A simple search on Google will bring up loads of on-line auction sites out there that offer free or low cost listings for your items.  Some of those only take a small  percentage of sales, some may even charge listing fees whether you sell or not.

Those sites that offer free listing or only take a percentage of each sale are very good for sellers and will be worth having a look at.  I would recommend that if you are going to try one of those sites, I would suggest listing a few items to start with just to check out the site before uploading your entire list to it.  The one problem I find with those other auction sites is that they really don’t have the same amount of traffic that eBay does at present.  Although these auction sites have a smaller amount of traffic you may find the savings are worth it.

Selling through auctions is a very good way to earn extra money and it is passable to turn it into a full time business.  After you find your auction site you will want to test your products on each site you want to sell on.

Be an Auction Watcher

Before you list items on your chosen site you may want to watch a few auctions for a while to see thaws selling and what’s not selling.  Each of the auction site will have its own type of audience and each will attract its own type of buyer.  The auction site you choose in the end will largely depend on the products you sell and where your buyers are.
